statusjpn Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Hello all, I have 2 IPS sites, one with 15,000 members and another with 150,000 members. I would like to use the Bulk Mail feature for the first time to send out an e-mail blast to update the members on some changes. I don't see options for X mail / minute, and i presume if i were to click "SEND", this would crash my server due to the sheer number of members. Does Invision throttle the sending of emails to something that is acceptable to the server or are there any settings that i can change/update? I prefer not to use an external/paid mail server if possible i.e. Mailchimp, etc Thanks in advance!Â
Management Solution Charles Posted October 5, 2021 Management Solution Posted October 5, 2021 I'm afraid we do not have any in-software throttling as we usually assume the email service provider would handle that on their side.
statusjpn Posted October 6, 2021 Author Posted October 6, 2021 @Charles Thanks for your reply. So on Invision side, it would try to send out the 150,000 e-mails at one go? Just wanted to confirm, appreciate your reply.
Marc Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 It will actually send it in smaller batches, but repeatedly and immediately until they are sent. So essentially, yes. statusjpn 1
