Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 21, 20159 yr I just upgraded my forum, and there's quite a number of members having an issue where the editor won't open up for them... In must cases <control> F5 seems to resolve the issue, but some it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone else been seeing anything like this, is there anything I can do on the forum / server end to fix this?
November 21, 20159 yr Try to clear all system caches. ACP → Support → I have a problem ... The software will clear all internal caches.
November 21, 20159 yr Author I did try that/. It's not happening with everyone, seems most prevalent with Chrome users.
November 21, 20159 yr Did you tried to reset your editor? And: The Chrome users should send you an screenshot of the developer console if the error shows up. (F12 in Chrome)
November 21, 20159 yr Author I didn't know the editor could be reset except for the buttons, how do I reset the editor? If I find a member who is proficient enough I can try to get the screen shot. My forum members are far more mechanical than computer literate.

November 21, 20159 yr Author This is the screen shot one member sent. They get the options to put in a file, but not text. http://wheelhorseforum.com
November 21, 20159 yr Your editor works fine for me - even with Google Chrome. Would be nice if there would be a screenshot of the developer console possible. Should look like this one, but with more errors if the editor does not load:
November 21, 20159 yr Author I will try to get that if a more power user has the issue. Hard refresh is working in almost all cases so I suspect a cache issue with the client, but there's one member where this is not the case. I'll see if he can get the error information when he writes me back. Thank you for helping! Most members are fine, just a few so far having an issue.

Sometimes you have to clear your complete browser history + cookies + cache for gettin' things working again.
November 21, 20159 yr Author I sent him a link how to do that from Google's instructions. Hopefully that will work.
