Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 10, 20159 yr In 3.4, there was a little "x" you could click to make the sidebar go away on the home page. On version 4, I can't figure out how to make the sidebar go away.
March 10, 20159 yr By home page do you mean the Forum Category view? When you are logged in there is a little arrow on the left side.Click that and you can add/remove blocks in the forum sidebar.By default there is a Database block added, delete this and it should eliminate the sidebar.ps, I just discovered this a minute ago... :)
March 10, 20159 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, forum Category View. I can't find an arrow on the left side. Is it visible in the attached screenshot?
March 10, 20159 yr I don't see it there. Are you logged in as the Admin? I don't see AdminCP above Sign Out in that drop down.
March 10, 20159 yr Author Oh sorry, I confused you by leaving out this important detail... I'm just a member of the IP community forums - not an admin. And for my forums, I have not updated from 3.4.7 to 4, yet. So that sounds like an Admin only controllable feature.
March 11, 20159 yr Author Thanks Rikki. In 4.0, can an Admin set it so the users can toggle the sidebar?
March 12, 20159 yr I'm afraid not - but it might be possible with a third-party hook. I'm sure one would be available in due course.
March 12, 20159 yr Author Thanks again Rikki. And yes, a hook would be nice - if I wasn't Admin I'd HATE not being able to turn off the sidebar.
