I'd like to suggest an option to make forum search results expandable per topic in 4.0. Currently when we do a search, all topics and responses are listed together and there are potentially dozens of post entries for each topic. Most times you can tell by the topic title if it's not what you're looking for, but still need to scroll through all the results for that topic.

It would be ideal if responses were grouped by topic -- maybe with an arrow icon that allowed the user to expand results for that topic if it was a good match.

Same for Downloads: you search for a file and appears 300 links with comments to the file.

Agreed. I've always preferred the topic list view when doing a search in IPB 3.X. I usually search for things I remember, and then it's better to just see the topic titles since I remember it when I see it. 

And I guess it's generally easier even if you don't search for something you remember. 

yes, a "group together" option must be great for this  but how to do this with care (ajax...)?
