Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
kopvm Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Hi Recently I have noticed that it takes very long when someone tries to create an account on my forums. When they click submit it at least takes a few minutes before the account is created.Ipboard is 3.4.7 and it is self hosted. Is there anything that you think could be causing this? Thanks
ASTRAPI Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Hard to say without checking but it may be a problem with your mysql.....Is everything else working fast on the forum like creating a topic or post in the forum?
kopvm Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Making posts seems ok. Here is a printout of mysql --versionmysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 5.5.40-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2
ASTRAPI Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Give us some more details like:What kind of server do you use? Dedicated?Cpu?Ram?Run a top and post here the results when you have the problem....Also do the same with mysqltuner script and post here...
kopvm Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Ok I know what the problem is but I have no idea how to fix it. I checked and the spam service is not working. Im getting a 0: Service Error message. I turned the spam monitoring service off and everything now works really quickly again.
AndyF Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I was going to say its likely an outbound connection doing this such as the spam service or a third party one ie SFS. I'd suggest a ticket in the Client Area however the tech may refer you to you host about this so they can run a trace to see if there's any bottleneck likely causing it.
ASTRAPI Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Open a ticket as AndyF suggest and if you need any help post here again
