Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Dmacleo Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I swore there were topics on it but I could not find them. if anyone uses them for cdn could you explain how to set it up? from what I read I first need to setup an S3 bucket and then cloudfront pulls from that?
Royzee Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I tried them once, but didn't understand the setup. After that I found I left something on that I shouldn't have, and ended up getting billed $1200 a month later. I didn't pay it, just told them it was their lack of instructions, and closed my amazon account permanently.
Dmacleo Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 thats it, not seeing succinct directions on what is needed. so much junk in google searches over it too. I'll find it somewheres LOL
Royzee Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Just keep an eye on the cost meter if that is possible.
Dmacleo Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 yeah for sure, however it may not be an issue as I see many say no difference between it and cloudflare for cdn for images/etc. just want to see for myself.
valendono Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 LoL, dont use just for cloudfront (cdn) and the buckets, this aws features designed best for ec2 customer...
Ae9803 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Ive used cloudfront, its pretty easy to setup. But the buckets, meh.
Dmacleo Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 so how did you set it up for cdn? like i said not sure I will use it but wanted to at least look into it before ruling it out.
handsoffsam Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 CloudFront works well in front of IPB. Setup is simple enough. Bonus, if you're using EC2, you're not really spending much more (if any) to deliver the content from CloudFront as you would from your EC2 instance. robert

craig1234 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I use the custom origin setup. It is very simple to setup. It must be simple, because I managed it.
