Ae9803 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Hey Guys, So I tried there beta, and I have noticed an great amount of difference. I was wondering if anyone has had used this before? video.mp4
Dmacleo Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I did 8 months or so ago and, for me, found it to not really help.was wondering about it other day though and may try it again.
Ae9803 Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Awesome, Yea as you can tell in the video, it shaved off quite a bit of time.
Makoto Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I posted my results on using Pagespeed in general here, http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/383024-google-page-speed-service/#entry2388263 Though that's with PageSpeed as a web server module, and the module isn't suitable for production use. When using SPDY the optimizations don't really make much a difference for me. The lazy loading and defer Javascript filter I like, however.
Ae9803 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 It made a pretty drastic difference more me. I was very impressed.
Luis Manson Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 i dont like the fact i have to send my traffic to google, not because of "its google" but because i already have a "slow" site according to them (i guess this is because im in argentina) I dont want to try to send all my users to the US and then back...
Makoto Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Google has servers all over the world. So your users may not have to actually bounce to the U.S. and back, but I can't say this for sure. But I can understand not wanting to use third party services like this as well, I will not opt for the service myself. Nor do I intend to opt for any other service of the nature, including Cloudflare.
Ae9803 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Kirito, you are correct this is a CDN. Since there servers are all over the world your user would ping back to the closest server, thus making the site faster for your user.
Luis Manson Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 i do like cloudflare because of what they were abre to do for spamhaus attack, yet i think it might not work with IPB
