the thing is apc-php/fcgi doesn't share cache between processes. So if you're server load is 1 user per ever then you probably won't see anything.

now I'm sure someone will come to prove me wrong.

) I try to install.

wonder if I can create a symlink for a whole directory
/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ where it actually installs to
/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/ where apache looks for the .so files.

well system installs apc.so yet error said APC.so....so I uploaded one using capital letters and at least whm is listing it loaded now.
no idea if its actually doing anything yet though.
