Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Paragon792 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 There is a board where the members are posting mean stuff about other people in their school who is not neccessarily a member on that site and I feel like that this is a very bad environment and can get people into trouble. Can you look in to it or is IPB not allowed to do something like this? btw the site is www.lwcommunity.org
Paragon792 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Darn it. But still, can they delete the board just based on content or does it have to be really bad, like breaking the law?
Lindsey_ Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Only if the board is nulled by speak to IPS about this, not us :)
Paragon792 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Only if the board is nulled by speak to IPS about this, not us :) I'm sorry. I have no idea about what you had just said. I am a newb at this stuff :(
wickedfpoop Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 No we cannot. If the board is pirated, we can take a look at it and make an attempt to shut it down but shutting it down due to defamation of character is something you'll want to speak to a lawyer about.
Yorkshireman Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I'm sorry. I have no idea about what you had just said. I am a newb at this stuff :( Don't worry, I didn't understand what he said either.
Please Delete Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 We are in a democracy and what people say or do using PAID LEGAL software is totally up to them and IPB can do nothing about it. If the site is preaching hatred then you can take it up with local law enforcement officers. Each state or province will have a set of rules dealing with the spread of hatred. If the site is just mean spirited then its no different from the Howard Stern show. Annoying as hell and he will keep going as long as he has an audience. Turn it off an he is out of business. Nough said
Lindsey_ Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Well the board *is* nulled...  and the skin is
bfarber Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 If it's nulled, report it to the piracy department.

I wonder who's hosting their site... and Im suspecting someplace in God-knows-where to avoid getting shut down too <_<

In my opinion people like you are far worse, just because a site says something YOU don't like doesn't mean they have to be taken down, I'm guessing they're probably saying stuff about you? Good for them, because the way you're coming across as someone who always wants YOUR way and it's always about YOU sure isn't rubbing off well on me. :)We are in a democracy and what people say or do using PAID LEGAL software is totally up to them and IPB can do nothing about it. Nough said I pretty much agree.Well the board *is* nulled...:lol: and the skin is     I'm not sure where you're getting this information, but I saw nothing at all to suggest that. And yet "Stormfront" is still alive and kicking...
