Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
SinaMiandashti Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 it would be awsome if u guys creat such that mod for IPB ... ! dont let Vbulletin creat something better than u !http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread....ight=thank+ajaxsomething like this for IPB !
Alex Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 vbulletin.org is the official site for modifications, just like IPSBeyond is for IPS, so I am not sure why it is posted here as a default feature request? vBulletin doesn't have it as a default feature either.Request it here: http://www.ipsbeyond.com
SinaMiandashti Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 posted in ipsb .... no replycan u convert it to ipb?
tommy79 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I think there is already a thanks post mod. I'm not sure if it's with ajax. But yes it is a good mod.As for vbulletin.org and ipsbeyond, I like ipb more than vbulletin, but their resource sites looks more professional and organized. I think ip should do a cleaning. A great board like ipb should deserve a better organization.
~Dopey~ Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I don't think a 'Thanks Post' or the like is warranted as a default feature in IP.Board. This is the sort of thing for modifications.
SinaMiandashti Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I don't think a 'Thanks Post' or the like is warranted as a default feature in IP.Board. This is the sort of thing for modifications.agree ! but someone should creat that mod
~Dopey~ Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 agree ! but someone should creat that modSo go to IPSBeyond (or some other modification site) and request :) I believe this area is to suggest features that IPS are to incorporate into their product, not for (e.g.) modification suggestions/requests.
SinaMiandashti Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 So go to IPSBeyond (or some other modification site) and request :) I believe this area is to suggest features that IPS are to incorporate into their product, not for (e.g.) modification suggestions/requests.i did that ... no reply
~Dopey~ Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 i did that ... no replyHmm, that's weird. That usually only happens on 'D-Scripting' (oh yes, that was a dig for anyone that works there {but that's another story}).Well, bump it?
SinaMiandashti Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 did it ! no replyi think a pro IPB admin should convert this to IPB for us :(
The Clash Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Grammar mistakes aside, I think this topic should be somewhere else. It has nothing to do with IPS, and I can almost guarantee it won't become a default feature in IPB, unless Matt or Brandon go even more insane than they already are.
Rοb Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 I still want to know what a thanks post is. From what i gather it is one button that replies to a post with "thanks", but in what environment is something like that going to be useful?
SinaMiandashti Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 i am a PHPBB and PHPNUKE modderi was planing to convert this to IPB but ... I dont know anything about IPB skin template html ... so .. :( for know what is the THANKS POST look http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread....ight=thank+ajaxso im asking here for some Pro IPB modder to convert this
The Clash Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 It's basically a button you push, and it adds a reply to the thread from yourself that says 'Thanks!' or something of the sort. I really don't see where it would be useful anywhere.
Michael Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I've only ever seen this used on warez forums in conjunction with a hide hack, so people can post links to illegal material that will be hidden to anyone who hadn't thanked them for it by pushing this button. That way 'the man' won't see what illegal content they just posted, and the little warez kiddies don't have to expend any extra brain activity by actually posting something of any meaning to see the hidden content. I've yet to hear any legitimate use for such a mod. A big -1 from me on this suggestion.
Rοb Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Thanks Michael, you confirmed my thoughts exactly...
SinaMiandashti Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 im not agree with u !see this site :forum.majidonline.comits for persian webmasters ..... and use this mod !this mod is not only for Warez damn sites !!
Michael Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 im not agree with u !see this site :its for persian webmasters ..... and use this mod !this mod is not only for Warez damn sites !!  :huh:So what is it used for on that site? I don't speak the language used there, so I have no idea what possible use such a mod could have. If you could explain why it is used there, I would appreciate it.
Alex Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I kind of agree with Michael here, whereas I suppose it could be used as a 'if you dont want to see this content, you dont have to' sort of thing, though the spoiler could be used for that :)
SinaMiandashti Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 to see how much a user usfull for my board !! and make user click on thank button instead of post a reply and say thanks ! it is too usfullsorry my english lang its not so good ... cant explain it good :( !
