Before providing my suggestions, I just want to say that I'm extremely non-computer savvy and I'm also impatient. Using Invision, I've been able to 100% set up a really nice looking forum myself, which is essentially a miracle. So kudos for everyone involved with Invision for creating an intuitive and easy to use forum software. The forum I am setting up will likely be photo intensive. It seems to me and many others that Instagram is becoming increasingly video/reel driven, which makes for a terrible experience. I think this is an opportunity for forums that are heavy on photos to regain a foothold in the social media scene and pull people away from Instagram. Not en…

Can we fast-track some of the updates approval processes for verified/ trusted creators? The wait for IPS verification on simple bug fixes r/t software updates for some of these apps can be extremely long and impact our communities negatively while we wait. Seems like there are plenty of content creators here that regularly submit working, verified apps that would be safe to allow on some sort of fast-track as opposed to unknown submitters.

Would be nice to be able to search inside inbox conversations to look for specific keywords. It's almost impossible to find anything if you have a huge conversation. 👀

Just like you removed version number from footer to protect against obvious attack vector of old unpatched versions. I would recommend remove the main version number from the upgrade url. not every install move their /admin behind htaccess or other protections.

Here is another feature suggestion: Right now we have the ability to set up a waiting time before a user can download a file (group permission for downloads). If done so, the user sees a simple message, which informs him about the remaining waiting time. I think this is a missed oppotunity. Why not use this dialog to display all kinds of stuff to the user while he is wainting? I'd love to add custom text, images (even multiple and/or randomly changing images) etc. to that dialog, so there is a little more value to the waiting time.

My Forum is quite image heavy, with members posting photos of their prop building progress. Given that most images only need to be viewed by others at a small scale, I use thumbnails within posts. If anyone needs more detail, they can expand the thumbnail into lightbox, but generally, having thumbnails keeps everything tidy, preventing image heavy posts from taking up acres of space. However, there has been one thorn in my side for at least the last six years... the fact that if photos are attached but not manually placed (by the poster), they are positioned by default in a vertical column, which takes up space and looks really untidy... I then have to edi…

What is the point of this increased width field? Somehow it looks pretty ugly...?

Maybe it's just my opinion 😅, but why don't make this IPS4 default menu? It has a beautiful design, visually more organized and visible.

Would it be possible to add a 'ban/warn' button in the same way you can normally moderate posts. Having to constantly go to the users profile and/or remind moderators how to this down is tedious. It would be a lot more straight forward and quicker when dealing with those members who cause you problems.

I would like to suggest a feature where if a product of yours goes out of stock while you are away or asleep, you can have the option to receive a notification by email that you need to restock. A furtherance of this could be a text for “emergency” out of stock notifications.

Due to severe personal health issues, hit by texting driver, COVID-19 and others. Company and communities have been falling a bit to the wayside, simply due to lack of energy and resources. But I really feel like the non-license restriction is way too severe. It prevents you from recouping again. I am fine with that you cannot upgrade in the period, nor get support. But that you get locked out of the marketplace, is a bit too severe. You get locked in a cycle of "I need these plugins to revitalize the sites and generate some revenue, but no, can't download or buy due to inactive licenses" Of course they shouldn't support free-loaders, even temporary ones, but en…

I appreciate all the new things you are introducing, but in my opinion you are taking too many things for granted. Not all users who use and administer a forum are aware of special features you have added, and often in doing some testing, they cause errors. Many Italian users contacted me to ask for explanations about Data Layers, they saw this new feature with 0 explanations. Why is it that when you introduce a new feature and a user enters the dedicated page, you don't give a tour of the page, whereas for simpler features (ex. Stock Replies) even a simple modal explaining what it is and if there is a need points to a guide on invisioncommunity. example:…

Currently, setting a topic to be published in the future has no effect on the topic's actual start date. On a busy board, a topic set to be published in the future will quickly down the topic list, and eventually on to page 2 and so on - adding a reply to the topic will be required to bump it in to view. oh, scratch that...is there a follow-up task that runs that forces this? Been testing on my test site, and looks like a 5-minute delay between publishing happening, and then the topic 'bumping' *stand down*

A 'Publish immediately' moderator option could be useful - a decision may be made to make a number of topics (set for future publishing) immediately available. Select them in the topic list, click a button and confirm is quicker than editing them all manually

Hi! We have a hard time understanding the default design level of the IPB emails. According to us, it is not remotely close to the professionality of the rest of the IPB. (Hats off for the latter). Like the enclosed confirmation email, where we have added a top brand image that is equal in size to the email to add some kind of overarching design structure to the email. But the email in itself looks... not good. 1) We count to seven (7) different combinations of fonts/size/colour in this email having just about 100 letters. 2) A visual structure hard to identify. Some text here and there, to the left and in the middle. A few gray horizontal background …

In addition to the tags features for images, would it be possible to add a member tagging for the Gallery? Something like @Jordan if someone uploads a selfie they took of Jordan and he/she/they?

Hello I would like to ask if there is a Dark Default Theme in the making? And I would like to ask if there is a possibility of having the old classic IPB theme of version 2 , yeah sounds so much old and not possible , but is it? This one. Thanks in advance.

Noticed update in release notes for Search UI. 1. Just showing 3-4 letters as a part of search is not a good idea. I am using 2K monitor. Can we please improve UI for Search? 2. Also needs to be multi-select -> User is not going to search one time in pages and then in topics for example. Default can be: ALL but rest all multiselect option. Thanks.

Just playing with receiving a web hook to another software/service, it appears the data is sent as content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded I think it would be helpful to have a way to choose how to send the data because the receiving side it's impossible to unencoded it as the JSON object is entirely escaped. For testing to see what comes back in the payload I am playing with https://pipedream.com/ pretty quick way to build a receiver to see what the forums is sending.

Like most people i have a members first post set so it has to be approved. Most of the time the ones that aren’t approved are spam but occasional posts aren’t approved for another reason. It would be really useful if there was a built in option for showing the member the reason why their list wasn’t approved which they would receive as a notification or private message

Hi there, I don't know if this is a feature request or a bug. The point is that lately I'm using WEBP images in my community. However, when I upload a webp image, it turns that instead of compress it uncompresses the image. I upload a 33kb image that finally weights 60kb. Any ideas?

When we update the software version and the theme has a modified template, the system warns that there is an modification for that. My question is, couldn't the same happen with third-party apps? I always edit my app templates to make them adaptable to my website. That would be very useful.

I'm fetching gallery images with the web API and displaying them in a client application. It's surprising there is no option to sort images by rating: https://invisioncommunity.com/developers/rest-api?endpoint=gallery/images/GETindex With an application like this normally you want to make your top-rated images the default option, and then have a dropdown box that allows the user to switch to most recent content. The reason is that your top-rated content of all time makes your application look a lot better than whatever random stuff people recently uploaded.
