After upgrading our forum software to 5.4.2 (self-hosted), we've had multiple users reporting having issues using the site on Safari.

When they click on a forum topic or other page, it keeps reloading until giving an "a problem repeatedly occurred" error message:

Which site is this related to? Are you using the latest release of safari? I ask as this appears to be an issue safari side, rather than site side

It's related to the site in my profile that is self-hosted.

I don't know which release of Safari the users have, but I assume it's not the latest one. But this was never an issue before the update, since these users are regulars and never complained before.

How am I supposed to do that? The site has thousands of monthly users.

This wasn't an issue before 5.0.

While I understand what you are saying there, the software relies on the latest technologies. As such we would require browsers to be up to date. While I understand you cant ask thousands of users, you could of course get information from the people reporting the issues and ensure they update

Hi @yxleif,

You could set up a timed alert that is displayed to specific groups (or everyone of course) to advise them on updating to the latest versions of their browser for the best user experience when visiting your community.

If this is something you're willing to explore, you can find this functionality by clicking on your username → ModeratorCP → Manage Members → Alerts.
