We noticed that when a user adds a reaction in a thread, their profile shows that they reacted in a completely different thread! I’d appreciate quick help with this. Reactions also appear in the activity feed for channels that the user didn’t even react to in that thread. If you could take a look at my site, all the data is up to date in the client panel.

hat’s more, for example, on the Administrator’s account, reactions from other users appear for threads that I’m not the author of

Other users can also see these incorrect reactions including in threads that have no reactions at all from the given user. These false reactions are visible in the activity feed on user profiles, making it appear as though users reacted to content they never interacted with. It seems like reactions are being displayed globally and incorrectly linked to unrelated content.

Can you post a couple of screenshots so that we can have a clearer idea of what's happening? Without that, it's a little difficult to track things down.

Some links would be even better.

Yes, look my profile

I see reactions here in threads that aren't mine, but they show up in my activity feed on my profile. For example, when I open the first thread, you can see that even the reaction that appears in my profile doesn't actually exist. Other users are experiencing the same issue.

@Esther E. I've currently disabled the forum because this bug seems very critical.

I have no idea why notifications started appearing on my profile showing that someone reacted to a thread I'm not the author of. That never happened before I would only see if someone reacted to my own threads. Other users are also noticing similar behavior; they’re seeing reactions from other users on completely unrelated threads that they have nothing to do with.

Please also try reacting to some thread after adding a reaction, I see in my profile that I reacted to a completely different thread than the one I actually clicked on.

And this started with 5.0.5 Beta 2?

I'm not entirely sure since when. A few users started reporting this today and I looked into it and it is indeed a big problem.

I'm not sure what I can do about this

A fix will be included in 5.0.5 final, due out shortly.

So the issue was indeed reproduced on a clean system? Will the current problems with reactions be fixed?

I could reproduce locally, although in most cases it meant that reactions weren't shown at all on profiles.

Hmm, do you think this will also solve my case? When can we expect the final version?

Yes, it will do. Oddly, the bug has been in since September 2024. 🤷‍♂️

It'll be out in about 10 minutes.
