[5.0.5] Intermittently gallery image dodge the approval queue

Hello,

This is an intermittent problem - I'm sorry that I have not yet managed to work out anything that makes it consistent or repeatable. I'm not the only moderator (on our test system) that has seen this so it does occur maybe 1 in 4 times on our test system???

  • gallery category set to "require albums"

  • gallery category set to "Images must be approved"

  • user in 'Members' group with no special privileges (not admin, not moderator)

If the user submits (for example) 3 images then usually the moderator would have 3 items in the approval queue and would be able to approve them (or not) one at a time. SOMETIMES the moderator only receives one item in the approval queue with no option to approve or not the other two items.

  • Moderator has received 3 emails (one for each item requiring approval) but the issue is that only one of the items has actually appeared in the approval queue

  • Whether the other items (the ones that dodged the queue) are visible or not in the gallery is open to debate! I've just done a test and all items were visible in the gallery and not hidden after I (as moderator) had approved only 1 of the 3. Another moderator has done tests and reports that the queue dodgers were not visible to him as moderator but were visible to the original submitter!

    I am now running [5.0.6 Beta4] and there still seems to be a problem.

    I was investigating a problem where blog entries are sent for approval even though they should not be sent for approval. (This was supposedly fixed in [5.0.4] but it is not fixed! See other bug that I just updated,,,)

    Normal/non-privileged member creates a blog entry. There is a red banner saying the content will need to go for approval and the blog entry is actually sent for approval.

    I use my Administrator account with the intention of approving.

    • red count shows 3

    • I approve first entry (gallery) and red count goes to 4. (Presumably this is caching of the count?)

    • I approve two more gallery images. Red count goes to 0 !! (what happened to the blog entry?)

    • I check the blog entry

      • it has been approved

      • when I check the moderator log it shows that my administrator account did the approval (it is NOT a shared account and I had only approved gallery images as the blog entry did not show in the approval queue)
