Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted Tuesday at 10:24 PM5 days Hey, so this open Tagging feature sounds great, but for the past 20 years, I've been extremely meticulous in tagging things. My guess is that there are over 1,000 tags used in my forum, and clicking on them integrates the list of topics very nicely. All I need is some reassurance that all these tags will be converted to the new system (and not lost). For example, there may be 300 threads associated with the tag "Pizza." Will that link, and corresponding information (i.e., the ability to build a list of all items tagged with Pizza), be preserved? Also, are there any issues with spelling variations, i.e., we probably have erroneous tags such as Pizza, Pizzas, Carryout Pizza, Pizza by the Slice, etc., and this may be a good time to fix-and-consolidate them. (When is Forced Conversion going to occur?)Thanks in advance everyone,Don Edited Tuesday at 10:26 PM5 days by donrocks

For example, there may be 300 threads associated with the tag "Pizza." Will that link, and corresponding information (i.e., the ability to build a list of all items tagged with Pizza), be preserved? They will be converted to closed tags Also, are there any issues with spelling variations, i.e., we probably have erroneous tags such as Pizza, Pizzas, Carryout Pizza, Pizza by the Slice, etc., and this may be a good time to fix-and-consolidate them. The system doesnt really have any knowledge that they are the same thing, so they would be separate tags. However, we have a delete and merge function on version 5 which will allow you to better manage those if needed (When is Forced Conversion going to occur?)When you update to version 5
