Hi everyone,

I’m publishing news articles in the Articles section of my site, and I want to embed YouTube videos directly within the articles. I need some guidance on how to do this.

Is there a specific setting or plugin I need to enable in Invision Community 5 to allow embedded YouTube videos within article content?

For example, I want to embed a YouTube video using the following code:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BzAyrkt47Yg?si=HCMHTkyMxArpGUBs" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

When I add this code to the Articles section, I want the video to appear embedded within the article, just like in the example image below.

Just paste the browser URL for the video in the editor. You don’t need HTML code and shouldn’t use HTML code.

NOTICE,

I have configured the necessary admin panel, group settings, and whitelist settings (YouTube.com has been added).

When I enter a post into the relevant database category via the website using my user account, it works. However, when I try to enter a post through the admin panel, it does not work. In other words, I cannot use the advanced editor for embedding in the admin panel.

You don’t need to whitelist anything. YouTube and Vimeo are standard services.

The embedding not working in the ACP sounds like a bug. You could add it to the 5.x bug tracker. It seems to work in 4.x. .

I only want it to be used from the sites I allow, so I want to whitelist them and restrict usage to specific users.

I assumed that it wasn't available in the ACP due to settings.

Thank you. Let's wait for the admins to check the topic and clarify the situation.

The thing you are missing here is how you are adding them. It does not require any "advanced editor". You just paste the youtube link.

It doesn't work in the editor within the admin panel. As a temporary solution, I'm submitting articles from the website instead of the admin panel.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
