Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 12Mar 12 Community Expert I wanted to create 4 groups in my community with a promotion system. I want to link it with the badge system I created badges for subscriptions, activity time, and followers, and I set the filter to sort by badges. I selected them, but it seems that users are being promoted even though they don’t have them. Unless the system is still processing and the badges will be assigned later, because I just launched the achievement system. I arranged the promotions from the lowest to the highest, with the last one being the highest group. I am using IC5.
March 12Mar 12 Author Community Expert It looks like group promotion is not working correctly on IC5. When I select earned achievements, earned ranks promote even those who don't have them.
March 13Mar 13 Community Expert Please could you provide me with a few examples I can take a look at on your site? I can then try and replicate the same here to determine if its just on your site, or a general bug, and get this sorted one way or another

I configured it so that a user must have a specific title and badges to be promoted. However, it seems that only the title is being considered, while the badges are not. As a result, some users were promoted without having the required badges. Due to these issues, I have temporarily disabled the promotion.
March 13Mar 13 Author Community Expert I would appreciate confirmation of the issue. It is making it difficult for us to implement the achievement system linked to group promotions, which we have been preparing for some time. It would be great to see a fix in version 5.0.4.

I’ve just activated a promotion, and users who don’t have selected badges are being promoted
March 13Mar 13 Author Community Expert Look, I just enabled promotion, and there's already one user in this group, but they don't have the required badges.KizioRCK Edited March 13Mar 13 by PanSevence
March 13Mar 13 Community Expert The user has the badge "Tydzień za nami!"I believe the confusion here is that you are looking for users to have "all" the badges. It doenst work in that manner. It works for user who have any of those badges
March 13Mar 13 Author Community Expert That's exactly what I expected... Ahh, so I won't be able to achieve what I wanted. :(
March 13Mar 13 Author Community Expert Couldn't you change it so that everyone could choose whether it should be a required badge, a title, or one from the list? Because it doesn't make much sense the way it works right now.
