Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 21Feb 21 Hi everyone,I used to have push notifications working fine in IPB v4 using OneSignal, but since upgrading to v5, they no longer seem to work. I checked my OneSignal settings, but I’m not sure if something changed in the integration with IPB v5.Has anyone successfully set up OneSignal push notifications in v5? Are there new settings, permissions, or API changes required? Any guidance or documentation links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
February 21Feb 21 Community Expert Im not familiar with that, however first of all I would check it is working in a standard browser on your site.
February 21Feb 21 Author thanks, do we need third party platform for push notificaiton or IP platfom can handle this ?I was using this since 4-5 years.
February 21Feb 21 Community Expert You dont need a 3rd party platform to provide push notifications, no. The software handles this. You just install the WPA app as with any other site that has notifications (your browser will usually ask you)

February 24Feb 24 Community Expert Of course. What you need to do is head over to your admin CP, and go to System->Settings->Web App, and fill in all details on there on both tabs. Once you have done that, you have set up the web app. You will then have the options to install a web app. How this is added will depend on the browser you are using
February 24Feb 24 Community Expert We dont have a native application. We use a WPA app (which is actually what allows for push notifications both on mobile devices and on your computer.)
