Is it possible in v5 to revert to the default and unmodified template files in Pages?

I'm also interested. As all the templates from v4 are not compatible with v5, I'd like to start from scratch and remove all old templates to start over.

I finally found a workaround. Try creating a new template for Display and copy its content to the old template bits. Then remove the new template.

Yes, that's the current solution.

How do I do this? Currently getting the following error when clicking on any article:

[[Template core/front/global/widgetArea is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]

You should have something in your system logs with a little more detail.

Did you copy all the templates in the template set, or just the main one?

I just uploaded all files from the upgrade folder that I downloaded. I deleted all of the old themes and set the IPS theme as default.

My issue relates to me using a custom display template group:

What I really need to do is dele my existing homepage and change to widgets rather than my homepage showing the latest database articles, it's less customiseable or is this the correct way?

So, I think my issue is custom page layouts but not sure how to change that:

No, that's not for the category view. If your issue is when clicking on an article itself, then you need to look at the "Display" group (in your case, it's called Axenarticle Featured). The Display template doesn't use the new layouts.

Yep checked and changed the option but still getting the issue:

Yes, but your Display template is likely not the default. You'd need to create a new template set and use that one instead.

We do intend to fix this but that solution isn't ready just yet.

Sorry how do I create a new template set? Is that just creating a new theme and set it as default?

Sorry, I'm answering too many topics and I confused this one with a different one 😂

At the bottom of your Pages Templates screen (the same place where you have the screenshots above), choose Add -> Add Database Template. The Template Type should be Record and you can just assign it to your database right from that form.

Fixed! Thank you very much, just got work out how to fix the rest of the theming now! 😂
