We use Gmail for emails and messages in IC, and have for years. It's enabled through System/Settings/Email Settings as SMTP, as that's the only option. Google advises (below) that SMTP will be turned off and OAuth will be required. Implementation is March 14, 2025. How does this affect us?

If they no longer offer SMTP, it is currently not something which we support.

Well, crud. Would the fix be as simple as using IC Cloud email? (There's nothing in the help guides about this...only ref to email in v4 guides seems to be about commerce support, which is deprecated. V5 guides...well...) Will using cloud email for messages, invoices, etc. affect our domain email settings and continued use of Gmail for other purposes?

If you want to use our Cloud email sending service, it would be as simple as selecting it. As it sends from our email domain, there is no further configuration needed.

Done, tested, including a test of our autoresponder for all the numpties who respond to emailed message notifications by email. All works. That was easy.

We'd been using Gmail instead of IC Cloud email for years, and only moved to Cloud a year or so ago. Another good reason to have done so.

Thanks.
