So, weird. It's suddenly stopped. I'vee been trying to resolve this since 12pm London time. 2 hours later, it suddenly retuns after posting this. My sites haunted. 😛

I know you have resolved this, but just responding to say it is indeed usually cause that causes this kind of issue
