Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Tom_K Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I would like to translate Invision Community into my language. Is it possible to download the default English version as a XML file (or any other format) so I can forward it to the translator?
Richard Arch Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) Yes, from ACP > Customization > Languages which will download the modified text. You may wish to look at and export the core_sys_lang_words table for all text descriptions. Edited December 23, 2024 by Richard Arch

Tom_K Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 I see. It would be useful to be able to get an export of all the strings straight from the software. I will see, if the database export is useful for the translator Is there a list of the languages that are already available?
Tom_K Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 I exported the table core_sys_lang_words but it has many entries that are not really translatable keys. Things like forum descriptions, titles of pages, warn reasons etc. Is there a way to get an XML file that would have all the default English translations as the custom values? This way I would just have those keys translated and import them back into the app.
Richard Arch Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Maybe you will get some help/inspiration from other translations available here: https://www.invisioneer.org/files/category/17-translations/
