PanSevence Posted Wednesday at 09:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:45 PM Hello, as we know, there is an option to request account deletion, which can be found in the account settings under the account security tab. However, is it possible to include such an option in the privacy policy? I mean an option that allows users to request account deletion as well. Specifically, I need a URL that I can provide in the Play Store when publishing the app, as this is required. Unfortunately, I don't see a universal address that enables this. How can I approach this issue?
Solution Marc Posted yesterday at 08:30 AM Solution Posted yesterday at 08:30 AM Im not sure I understand your question. Why wouldnt you just use the link to the security tab? settings/account-security/ So just add something like "You can request to remove your account here" and link to that area
PanSevence Posted yesterday at 08:39 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:39 AM When adding such a link in the Play Store, it is detected as 403 because it is not accessible without logging in.
Daniel F Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM You need to be logged in to use this feature.
PanSevence Posted yesterday at 08:57 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:57 AM (edited) I understand that, but I can't publish my app on the Play Store because I can't verify that such an option exists. 😕 Because I need to provide a link that will be accessible and most likely verified by a bot, but when I provide it from the profile, it shows a 403 error. If I outline the steps for account deletion in the privacy policy and provide a link to the policy in the URL field for account deletion, do you think that will be sufficient? Marc Posted yesterday at 10:17 AM Posted yesterday at 10:17 AM Thats what I would do personally, but we cannot answer that question for certain. Only google could answer that question for certain
Daniel F Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM Posted yesterday at 12:40 PM TBH I'm not aware of any site, which would allow me to delete the account without logging in. Facebook´ has only instructions with links https://www.facebook.com/help/224562897555674 Google: When I visit the page as guest, I'm also getting only instructions and links which result in the login form or even more instructions/information but no way to delete an account, if I visit them without logging in: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32046?hl=en It's kind of logical, isn't it?:D It would be really stupid if one could ask them to get deleted, without logging in to make sure that it's really me.
