major issue during forum upgrade

Hello, today I tried to upgrade the forum and it got stuck during the upgrade

and threw this error: Can not write /home/#####/public_html/system/File/FileSystem.php::337

(##### is name)

This has never happened before, any suggestions how to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Indicate the server cannot write to the file storage. Check permissions and ownership.

Thank you Jim for responding. So if I understand you well this is a server issue and not an IPB issue?

I am running a VHS server. I need to address this with the host?

Correct. The server cannot write to the needed folders, such as applications, datastore, plugins, and uploads
