Emails thru Invision Community in the Cloud

Hi

A beginner to Admin and ACP  here.

Whilst trying to set up a new user for Admin emails, Ive encountered an issue using Invision Community in the Cloud as the delivery method in ACP > System > Email settings

All the server details and log in information are correct as they was given to me by the senior Admin.

The client [ Thunderbird] receives emails, but when replying to them, it doesn't physically deliver them, ( never receive them at other end) but the Client doesn't show any error messages or codes.

Used different email address's to send to the Site ( instead of Gmail) which it still receives, but again when I reply to them they never get there.

All of a sudden I start getting the following error message

Could contain: Page, Text

Its been like this for 5 days now.

In vain, I tried installing another email client, 'MailSpring' which after entering all the account info , on trying to connect churned out the following at the end of log file.

SASL_PATH:

mailsmtp Last Error Code: 27
mailsmtp Last Error Explanation: MAILSMTP_ERROR_SSL
mailsmtp Last Error Location: 5
mailsmtp Last Auth Type: 0

After Googling error code 27  & MAILSMTP  the results mostly come back as a problem with the SSL certificate on the host server.

Has anyone else had this issue, or are aware of anything similar

Thanks

Harry

Sorry, I am a little confused as to what the issue is here. Our email system would only send email out of your Cloud based community. You cannot send email to it or use an email client to send/receive email from our email servers.

Hi Jim M

My apologies for causing confusion, I did state I was "A beginner to Admin and ACP  here."

I got completely mixed up regarding emails. I was referring to something within Invision, when the reality is, Its to do with a 3rd party email address host.

My fault entirely

Thank you for replying though.
