Since I upgraded our live site to beta 3, I regularly had monitoring alerts about server load.

I started investigating recently and found that the timing was peculiar.

The day after the update to beta 3, here is what happened with the AI bots:

 

 

We could see for several minutes a slowdown in the loading of pages, the number of visitors suddenly increasing to +600 visitors instead of the usual 100. Obviously 3/4 of the visits came from AWS (usa) and Falkenstein in Germany known for its crawling and AI training

On friday, I put some rules to block Anthropic and AWS ANs who was particulary hungry. That's why there is a curve fall.

 

Is there anything different with IC5 that would favor this or is it just crazy timing?

I think it's probably coincidence.

The last few months I've had issues with AI bots overloading my server resources, so have been blocking them as I come across new ones with good results.

Nothing in the beta will cause bots to visit your site more 🙂
