Rebecca Jorgensen Posted November 4 Posted November 4 This has just recently started and I'm not sure where to look or what could be causing the issue. There have been quite a few members who have clicked - follow this thread to get email updates and they are not sending on time. The emails are showing up days late. Very frustrating. They have unfollowed and followed again with the same results. Is this something that I have control over? Not sure that I made any changes that would have affected this. I'm not sure if it's all the threads or just random. What can I do to get this back to working properly. We've been using this feature for years and this is the first time we are having an issue like this with it. super thanks!
Marc Posted November 4 Posted November 4 My suspicion would be that they are items that are getting queued as background tasks, and your tasks arent running often enough. Try running your tasks as a cron job on your server, which may well resolve the issue
Gary Lewis Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I recently had a similar problem, and I'm on the InVision servers. In my case I personally had a day where I got no email notifications, even though I'm following everything and people were actually posting. I saw that through Unread Content, so was able to stay involved in the discussions. Sometime late in the day I mysteriously started getting the notifications, and it hasn't stopped again since. But I never did get the notifications I'd missed. Just started getting the current notifications. I had checked to see if I am following those topics, and was. And I have checked to make sure it hadn't gone to spam or anywhere else.
Rebecca Jorgensen Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 (edited) I have the cronjob - using easy cron which I've had since the beginning with no issue - set up, but did update it to run every minute. I'll see if maybe that will fix it. When I logged into the admin area last night there were a bunch in background tasks again. I'll watch that to see if things are moving as they should. Marc Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Yes, that should indeed be running every minute. If its not, then its very likely they are just backed up
Marco Junior Posted November 4 Posted November 4 @Marc I use the cronjob system and I'm experiencing the same problem in IC5. I even thought the problem was related to the SendGrid integration, but I believe the problem is not there. I was planning to report this as a BUG, but I need to do more testing. New members are registering and are not receiving emails quickly, often there is a significant delay. But if I send a test email to the member's email address, the emails start to be received quickly. Any suggestions as to what this could be?
