Is there anyway that something like Adminer could be added as an Application or embeded somehow that it uses Invision's SQL connection. Im faced with the situation where server admin is AWOL (self hosted), and we have Invision admins and trying to get a good backup of all the Invision tables just in case. Any insight to pulling backups off would be greatly appreciated.

Adding such a tool poses a secuity risk. That is why the SQL Toobox was removed in the first place.

Do you have Ftp access? If you have no ftp/cpanel access then there is not much that you could do to make a backup I am afraid.

just the server admin has access. We have a few people with Invision Admin access only.

I realize it is a security risk, we where thinking if we could do something like that, get a backup and then remove or disable the Application or plugin.. at least we have a backup of the community.

Thanks, we are working on that.. everyone is just in panic mode that almost 20 years of information will be gone... there should always be another admin.. obviously this is a poorly managed situation.

You could share the host log in details amongst yourselves (admins) to avoid situations like this. Or you could look into hosting your forum with Invision and you will not have to worry about stuff like this anymore.

I think that is the plan if we can get our data. If we loose it im not sure what will happen.

Almost all hosts make regular backups so the chances of that happening are very low imo.
