Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
ChrisTERiS Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Hello, When I paste a YouTube, Vimeo etc link to the editor, it shows fine the video inline. But when I paste a local video link (.mp4), it shows nothing. Is there any setting that I must activate? Thank you Chris
bfarber Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 No, there's no setting that will cause direct video links to display in the editor. We use an open standard to support embedding from some popular services (oembed).

Maybe this is easier as till now I was uploading with FTP the files, and then getting the URL.
Telemacus2 Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Bear in mind that if you upload the video to your own domain, each time someone watches the video, your isp storage is being used and traffic is likely to sky-rocket (as video files can be huge). This is the reason why most people use youtube or vimeo, not having to host the files on their own server.
