Janyour Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Hello, we are using downloads as marketplace and we are looking to charge both buyer and seller in transactions, for seller there is already a commission option in payment options, for buyer we found only Taxes options but this one we will use it for VAT, in the downloads options we can use only one type of taxe. We also found a transaction fee option but its not %, its flat ($XX), is it possible to have this fees in % ? Or we should use taxes ?
Joel R Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 In IP.Downloads, there is unfortunately no way to separately split commission between buyer and seller. Only seller. But I'm kind of confused, why would you split commission for buyer ... Wouldn't you just charge them more?
Janyour Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Thanks Joel, after many reads on some websites talking about marketplace we found that splitting commission is a good way to encourage sellers joining the marketplace, instead of charging them 15% for example we charge them 10% and buyers 5% (or 12% + 3%). As we'll two transaction (In and Out) around 3% and 2% we'll have 10% for the platefom. we are using taxes to charge 3% commission buyers but we cant use VAT, any idea to use both ? perhaps use a combined tax (VAT+fee) ?
