Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 28, 20168 yr Hi, I'm just starting to look into SEO optimization possibilities in IPS4 (version 4.1.17.1) and I can't figure out how to set default meta-tags for each and every inner page based on topics and articles' title and content (for meta description) so that they appear in google search results. I've found this topic which describes exactly what I wanna do but unfortunately there's no reply. I can see that's possible because it seems to be set this way on invisionpower forum. When I look into code source I see that. I've seen the same thing on several IPS websites but I don't know how to set it up. Can someone please help me figure this out ? PS : Sorry for my poor English.
December 29, 20168 yr Author Hi, I've found the solution. Turns out I shouldn't have set any meta tags and the system atomatically picks the page title and content for meta title and description. The problem I had came from a mistake I made from the start.
January 15, 20178 yr what do you mean, why is then the option there at the seo tab /admin cp to put meta tags?
