Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 1, 20168 yr Is there a decent one available? The ones in the marketplace don't have the best reviews, and the best one just seems to be a message across the top and hasn't been updated in almost a year despite issues being posted. I'm after something like this
December 7, 20168 yr Author Is it possible to improve on the options we have available? AdBlock Detector disappears as soon as the user clicks x and enhanced ad blocked doesn't appeal to me and just looks annoying, I'd like a simple message as above.
December 8, 20168 yr Have you seen this? Perhaps request the additional warning message as a feature, it may be added Mark.
December 8, 20168 yr Author Yeah don't like it, a pop up is the last thing I need. Would have thought it would be available as it's readily available on xenforo
December 8, 20168 yr Which one is the one you think is the best then? What ones have you already tried? I've just tested this one out: Displays a message across the top of the page, the message is customisable via the plugin settings and the message is displayed in a div with a class of 'adblockDetectedMessage' which means you can target that div if you want to change the background colour. I see nothing about that one that means you can't achieve the result you want to achieve.

December 8, 20168 yr But you posted a picture that also has an x to close in it? Anyway....have you actually contacted the developer to request the addition of a setting to stop the message from being dismissable? If you don't want to do that, then maybe edit the plugin's template (core -> global -> plugins -> adblockdetector) and remove the following line: <a href="#" id="closeMessage" class="ipsMessage_code ipsType_blendlinks ipsPos_right"><i class="fa fa-times"></i></a> Seems overkill to request someone to create one that works the way you want it when one already exists that can be modified to work the way you want it.
December 8, 20168 yr Author The dismissable message is fine. I'd just prefer it to load again on the next page load. Otherwise the user is never going to see the message again.
