is there a way to copy the forum permissions to another forum? I am havin this structure:

• Category
  • Forum 1
  • Forum 2
  • Forum 3
  • etc.

If I set my permissions on the category and the first board, I'd like to apply / copy them to the other ones (, too).

Yes, you can copy forum permissions.

 

1. Find the category you'd like to copy.
2. Click the settings/gear/dropdown icon.
3. Press COPY.
4. Press YES for "apply children forums".
5. Enter new forum name and details

You've know copied the entire category and duplicated it exactly the same.

I don't want to copy the whole forum, only the permissions.

Working on a plugin:

Forums is fine and working... but I'm trying to do it as a global option, so admins will be able to copy Forums, Downloads categories, use in 3rd party apps, etc.

Yes @jacboy,

You would still need to copy the forum so it will copy the permissions. Then you can rename the form, change it from discussion to category, edit the forum settings, and more. So yes, this should be a helpful way of doing it.
