pages > database in ACP

Can someone please explain what I can do with this part of pages?

Not trying to be cute.... but read/write information? 

 

Basically it's how the bug tracker, release information, etc. are created. Pages displays the information.... think of it as a basic php page to a sql server to pull up information.

Database is the meat of your pages you can create or do whatever you want using databases and its templates for example everything from "IPS Resources" tab on top except theme differences are made by Pages and using Databases 

Another example here in my website i have created a complete clan war system for our gaming community using pages and its database
