Morrigan Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 This used to be a thing and it appears that the functionality was forgotten or lost in the upgrade but I would really love to have it to where a new email address must be re-validated once changed. I don't necessarily want it to put them in a validating group but it doesn't change the email in the system until AFTER they click the link. I've found people that validate their account and then change their email to something like "test@gmail.com" and since there is no longer any validation or re-checks against spammer databases it allows it to be done then you can't find the old email to put it back on there.
bradl Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I noticed an email change for one of my members recently and in looking at them in the ACP I see the following: Seems like it might still exist. I can't find a way to force a resend of the validation prompt email though. Edit: Nevermind … I think I see what you're getting at.
MADMAN32395 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I completly agree. I have a few members who get creative with fake emails.

I've seen random emails set to things like: test@gmail.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com oooooooooooooooooo@yahoo.com sssssssss@hotmail.com And yet they aren't being revalidated at all. The way I know they aren't valid is I'm getting bouncebacks about these emails and I know they aren't their original emails as they would have been sitting in validating waiting for activation.
Mark Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 If you have email validation turned on, they will need to revalidate their email after changing. If that doesn't seem to be working for you, best thing to do would be to submit a support request
Morrigan Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Thanks @Mark I'll throw in another one but I honestly don't know the last time someone changed their email address otherwise I would but this is a two part suggestion. Not only revalidate the email but also check it against the spam database again.
