ndboost Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Hello, I am using IPB 4x and Pages.. I am trying to create a custom form that will allow people to apply to join my gaming clan. I have created a recruitment database with the following fields.Battlelog NameAgeWhy do you want to joinDo you have Teamspeak? How would i compose a custom form that includes these various database fields and submits into the database.. also is it possible to setup any kind of workflow when the submission is approved, it adds the user to various groups?
Ralf Herrmann Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The form will be created automatically once you put the database widget on a page. A button will be visible for member groups who have permissions to add records to the database. … also is it possible to setup any kind of workflow when the submission is approved, it adds the user to various groups? That is something a developer would need to code for you, if you want to add that to the stock functionality of Pages. It doesn’t deal with member group assignments.
Joel R Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Can't you just allow any member of your board (or even guests) to add a record to your database? When they fill in the record, that's like filling out your clan application.
SmackDaddy70 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 We use the forms addon developed by Devfusehttp://www.devfuse.com/products/63-forms/
ndboost Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 yeah thats basically what i am doing.. I have a database called Recruitment. I am then using the Rules application to apply groups and send emails when a post is approved given a custom data field in Rules. The next thing I am trying to get working is filtering the list of "Recruitment Applications" to their ID only. What I thought about doing was creating a custom block called "My Recruitment Applications" with a predefined filter .. but I'm not sure what to put here.
