Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
devoslack Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I browsed the forums for a solution and I couldn't really find anything that fits. What I'm trying to do is create a "database" similar to IMDB. I'd like to have, say a movie, and on that movie's page you can access screenshots, trailers, trivia, movie info, etc. etc. I'm trying to plan out the database, but I think something like this would require multiple databases per movie.I would have an Movie DB and connected to that would be records for the movie's screenshots, trailers, trivia page, etc. etc.Any ideas on how to achieve this?
chilihead Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 They removed the database relationship field in 4.0.
chilihead Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I assumed you meant for 4.0 since that is the forum you posted in, in 3.4 you could do it but if you upgrade, the database will break. It is not available in 4.0.
chilihead Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I don't think it will make it in. Maybe 4.1 series, hopefully.
Kirill Gromov Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 This possibility has been repeatedly asked to do the developers, but for some reason they have decided to remain silent.

devoslack Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Sorry, ya this is for 4.0.So without the DB Relationship field, any ideas on a work around? It's easy to have a database with a bunch of fields for everything I suppose, but then that would leave a TON of stuff to input on a single page.
devoslack Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Have you seen this? This is definitely a step in the right direction. Ultimately, I'd like to link to all News posts mentioning that movie as well. It may be worth downgrading to IPB 3.4, as I'm still in the process of building the site.
