Vikestart Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 How can you remove the filenames in the URL for pages made with the Pages app?
opentype Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 What are you trying to achieve? A page needs a unique name. It can’t be “removed”.
Vikestart Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Currently, I have to use something like contact.html, but I only want to show /contact/ in the URL. not /contact.html/Kinda like how the bug tracker on this site is at http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/ and not http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack.html/
Cemmos Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 When you're creating or editing your page under Page Management, set the Page Filename to contact instead of having it as contact.html.
Vikestart Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 When you're creating or editing your page under Page Management, set the Page Filename to contact instead of having it as contact.html. That results in the following error when trying to view the page:
opentype Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 What URL is shown when viewing this error? That link might be outdated, because you just changed it.
Vikestart Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 What URL is shown when viewing this error? That link might be outdated, because you just changed it. No, the menu item was changed as well. http://www.tswdb.com/forums/contact/ And all permissions are on, so it doesn't make any sense
opentype Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Sounds like faulty permission settings. If it can’t be fixed you might want to file a support ticket. P.S. I modified all my pages to not show the .html. It definitely should work.
Management Matt Posted March 4, 2015 Management Posted March 4, 2015 Submit a ticket. This has got me all kinds of curious.
