Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 18, 201212 yr Hi. First of all I would like to apologize for my English. I hope you'll understand what I mean  I think that the look of the attached files in the IPB is outdated and needs a major upgrade. Previously i wrote an idea about this. But the idea that I will tell you now not about mediafiles. It's abou pictures. If user attached many images of different sizes, section "Attachment Thumbnails" looks terrible. As good example for inspiration i can recommend this sites: http://tympanus.net/Development/GammaGallery/ - jquery-based adoptive(responsive) example. http://vk.com/ - in this network similar technology of thumbnail-alignment used for a long time. But not responsive. Just server-side. (see #5 on this post: http://vk.com/blog?id=209 ) It's a bad way for IPB because forums don't use fixed layout, but it can be used for inspiration anyway
November 18, 201212 yr Please, I hope IPS doesn't burden the software with too much jquery. I think features such as a slider for new topics or new posts would be great, but as long as they don't become one of those situations where jquery is all over the place. I like the concept but oftentimes, I see where developers have become so attracted to an idea that they copy and paste it everywhere and into every feature. But, overall, I think it's a great idea to include it as long as it doesn't become too burdensome.
