I've used eaccelerator in the past, but am partial to xcache.

Ok I just checked I am using suPHP. So should I switch to fcgi? I heard that most of the scripts are not compatible with fcgi.

Interesting, I've had no compatibility issues with fcgi. I host 38 sites on this particular system with several drupal, SMF and two ipb installations and haven't ran into any issues with FCGI.  I have had issues with Suhosin in the past, but with a few adjustments it seems to run everything fine.  But I always compile FastCGI wi the FCGI module.
