Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
shamil Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Hi there, I may be running IPB on Windows soon, and was wondering if I should opt for MySQL or MSSQL 2008 R2. Whilst both have there advantages, which gives the best performance? Are there any issues reported when using Wincache?
Fishfish0001 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 MSSQL costs extra money to run IPB on. Go for MySQL. Most applications are built around this (That I've seen).

Fishfish0001 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I would go for which ever you know how to code, and use the best.
Cloaked Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 No problems with wincache and IPB. Go with mysql. I prefer sql server, but, for php apps you're better off with mysql.
Tom_F Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Wincache is fine and certainly 1.1 gives some really good performance gains on my WS2008/MSSQL/IIS setup.
