Martin A. Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 The key is used to communicate with reCaptcha. Normally, an API key is restricted to one domain only, but not the default one. I don't think it matter much if you use that one, or make your own. If it did, IPS, and reCaptcha, would required that all user got their own keys.

You can also go to http://www.recaptcha.net and get your own keys for your own use if you do not want to use our included keys.
Management Charles Posted May 13, 2009 Management Posted May 13, 2009 The reCAPTCHA team provided the global key you see for IPS to use so they have said it's safe but you can certainly get your own if you wish.
