1. Can you confirm that IP.Board 3 won't offer subscriptions features anymore?
2. Will IP.Nexus replace it well?
3. Will IP.Nexus be ready once IP.Board 3 final release is ready too? Allowing to buy the whole package?

Thanks ;)

I think it is safe to say that Nexus won't be released when IP.Board 3 was, as the project was put on hold while IP.Board 3 was/is being developed. In the announcement they also said that they are going to reevaluate IP.Nexus, to see if there is a market need for it.

I'm not an IPS employee, but here are the answers to your questions:

1. The subscriptions feature currently in IP.Board 2.x will be upgraded for IP.Board 3.0, but only so that it will continue working; no new features or functionality will be added. The eventual goal is to make it a community project, similar to the IP.Tracker and IP.Shoutbox projects.
2. No, IP.Nexus won't replace IP.Board, they are different types of products.
3. No, IP.Board 3.0 will be released when it is ready, and then possibly work on IP.Nexus will take place. Only IPS knows for sure if that will be their next focus, or what its future plans are.

Thanks for that point :)

I know IP.Board & IP.Nexus are different, I meant "Will IP.Nexus replace subscriptions features of IP.Board 2?", sorry for this small confusion :)
So, if I'm right it means you don't loose subscriptions features when upgrading from IPB2 to IPB3, ok.
But without any previous IP.Board license the question is : do you still have access or not to subscriptions features if you want to buy and start from IP.Board 3 license only???

The intention presently is to update subscription manager and release it as a community project to coincide with the IPB 3.0 release. Community project releases are free to anyone with an active license - so even if you bought IP.Board 3.0 (didn't upgrade) you would be able to use the subscriptions integration.

Wow, that's a fast, clear and very useful answer to me, THANKS (w00t) No connection or need to wait for IP.Nexus then
