No edit for birthday in Admin CP?

Featured Replies

I went to edit the birthday for one of my members and I couldn't find any birthday editing support in the Admin CP. Is this just missing?

I went to PhpMyAdmin and made the change, but it seems to me that all profile fields should be editable by the board admin.

I also noticed this and found it quite surprising. The PhpMyAdmin route was the only option to make the change and that can get pretty time consuming. Can we do something about this?

that is not bug- that is suggestion

This is not a bug in IPB but is more of a feature suggestion.

And a feature suggestion I agree with.

I would like the ability to do this, because some member LIE about their age and it really annoys me when it says they are 21, when they are only 19. :-"

So, what's to stop them from changing it back again?
I really can't see any reason an admin should need to change the information a member enters in their own birthday field. Dunno2.gif

Some forums are modded to not allow the member to change their dob once they have finished signing up. It'd just be an easier way to modify it. It's ease of use.

As far as not allowing them to change it, that is better left as a Mod. ;)

Yes, I just take the option out of the UserCP. But there is no way for ME to change it.

I think it's safe to say that many Admins would prefer to be able to edit anything/everything of a members account, including dob's.

Good idea. More control over profile options (like requiring different fields without making them custom fields) would be nice.
