Will it be possible to subscribe to a user in IC5? It would be nice if users could monetize their content in this way.

I think this successful registration email is not always necessary so it should be optional. We use invision as a community addon to our wordpress membership site via SSO. We already have more sophisticated welcome emails and the ones from Invision are unnecessary.

There is currently the ability to have a single sign-on by OAuth. We use this with our WordPress site. However, there is currently no ability for a single sign-out. I'm not sure why this is, if a single sign-on is implemented then surely a single sign-out is also required?

The AdminCP setting to "Automatically embed links" applies to every platform that is supported, and while I want to be able to allow embedding of YouTube videos etc I want to DISABLE Twitter links specifically. There appears to be no sub-setting to choose which platforms you can allow embedding on - it would be good to have support for this. There are multiple reasons I want to disable Twitter specifically: Embedded tweets take ages to appear on page load, making for a crummy UX for my users Distracts from community content, which is not helpful when Twitter etc are platforms that forums constantly have to compete with for attention - if people really wan…

I have been meaning to post this for a couple of years now. Can we stop the ability to embed Twitter account feeds? Normally you would post the url of a Tweet and it embeds. However if you post the url of a Twitter user's account, it will embed a litany of their posts. This is far from ideal. At the very least, please create an ACP setting to turn this functionality off while still embedding individual Tweets. I don't want my users to have this ability and it just creates clutter in my opinion. Not to mention it continually updates. An example of a Twitter user's url embedding:

This would, I believe, make for an interesting app or core offering... the ability to remind ourselves to post in a given topic. I just had a member start a topic. It's a great topic and I want to answer, but I want to think about it for a couple of days first. I would love to be able to set a reminder for that specific thread, much like we do with an event. Another scenario might be a mention of Christmas in a thread at which point you want to remind yourself to come back and post in time for Christmas. Etc... I would just do it forwards, as in: Remind me in... 6 hours, 2 days, or 6 weeks. Feasible? Others?

This is what the page looks like: Which means I can select stuff: But as the license include everything, shouldn't it have those tick-boxes already enabled for all apps, with no option to disable them?

The ajax-based menu manager isn’t 100% reliable. I was making some changes to the menu and ended up loosing a parent entry for no apparent reason. And because all the child-entries were set for “one-time use only”, I lost the ability to add forums, gallery and downloads. It would be good to add some “self-healing” capabilities. For example, when the ACP menu manager is opened, check each entry and if necessary, reset them if they link to a non-existing parent.

Hi. I don't know how to define it, but what I mean is to add an automatic update of the username. Currently, if we mention a user in a post and the user changes his username/display name, the mention stops working and redirects to a 404 page.

Spam levels are extraordinary high at the moment - I know invision are working on improvements but one thing I think would be useful is downrating in the spam system temporary email addresses - there is a maintained list here: https://github.com/disposable-email-domains/disposable-email-domains Many of the spammers I have seen recently are using email addresses in this list and it is rare for legitimate members to use disposable email addresses so it would be great if the spam defence could automatically notch an account up a point if it uses a disposable email address which for us, would then put the member on moderated posts which would catch a lot of these. …

Not sure about other community managers, but we generally find that the search function is very inaccurate and doesn't really load up relevant search results. Are there plans to modernise this with new technology?

Currently, there is a lack of options for creating and adding labels with various content and colors that can be attached to a specific topic. Something like this but built in IPS and supported:

It seems like it would be a no brainer to number posts within a thread for easier reference but I don't see an numbers in IPS? As a matter of fact, how would you even permalink a post if you needed to? The only way I see possible is by using the Share>Email link as a permalink but that takes a few steps to access...

If asked and answered elsewhere, please feel free to give me the link. As a satisfied and dedicated self-hosted client, who plans to remain so for a while, I just wanted to ask IPS about the self-hosted vs. cloud functionality differences. Are the differences technically-driven or business-driven? In other words, e.g. courses, who is viewing this topic, etc. are on cloud only because the implementation on self-hosted would be too technically complex or is it a business rationale to motivate a likely more lucrative cloud offering? Clearly, IPS is entitled to business-driven decisions, but I think it would be useful to know what drives the growing number of benefits to…

Hi guys Long time InvisionCommunity user, almost-first-time poster. 🙂 I've been using this software to power my community forums for about 15+ years now and I'm looking to take the next step by building an integrated site for my users. I recently purchased the Pages app to experiment with it - the idea is that, one day, I might migrate a long-running Wordpress blog into Pages. With that in mind, I had a few ideas that would greatly help with improving workflow and ensure more consistent connectivity between Forums and Pages. I hope you'll consider them! To keep things concise, my ideas here are focused on the 'Copy to Database' feature of Pages (I do have other …

If the member title field has been removed, then maybe it would be appropriate to add an option that allows you to put some of your own profile fields in hovercard? I wouldn't have to display them under the posts/solved.

After 5 years or maybe even more of using Invisioncommunity packages until 4.6+ I was pretty happy with everything. Now there are some new updates coming out every now and then.. Especially now with the latest update 4.7 a lot of plugins aren't working anymore. I have this problem with "Couldn't get the list of blocks.." on manage blocks on 3 or 4 suites. The suggestion for today is: Plugins such as, 'General Statistics', 'Who Was Online', 'Group Name Indicator' should be directly implemented to the invision community packages for installation. It would help a lot of community owners and even businesses with these plugins.. Because with all the updates going on now…

First, all the credit to this site (Wordpress folks... no surprise!): Here is the fix to save 0.7s due to render blocking (and it is a big one for anyone using a google font which I think is the default. This should probably just be a permanent update by IPB 🙂 IMO. It's so minor (and the linked page goes into the details). In the includeCSS template. Change this: <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family={expression="\IPS\Http\Url::encodeComponent( \IPS\Http\Url::COMPONENT_FRAGMENT, \IPS\Theme::i()->settings['body_font'] )"}:wght@300;400;500;600;700&display=swap" rel="stylesheet"> to this: <link href="https://fonts.googlea…

The idea came to me that it would be nice to have the option to manually send a push notification when the site came back online. It happens that we close the site for a few hours, it would be nice to inform users that the site is now available.

Some communities are fine with four or five member groups. Others use them to subdivide their membership extensively and might end up with dozens and dozens. Would IPS consider the possibility of creating the concept of subgroups? The subgroup would have the exact same permissions as the parent group but one could assign people differently within the parent group. This would prevent creating dozens of groups and then having to worry about keeping them synced as regards settings and permissions. The concept is basically: Parent group 1 Sub group 1A (same permissions and settings as parent group 1) Sub group 1B (same permissions and settings as…

Not sure if this is a bug or wanted behavior, but when a user enables Google Authenticator under Account Settings > Security & Privacy, the popup window that shows the QR code cannot be closed. One has to enter a code to finish the process, but if someone decides to abort the setup, there does not seem to be a way to do so (other than manually enter a new URL in order to leave the current page).

The language key r__api has been updated to 'API' (from 'REST & OAuth'), so I guess r__api_splash needs an update, too ('Can access API page?' instead of 'Can access REST & OAuth page?').

Hello, through this I come to share a feedback with community developers. Well, I follow every release closely, I usually try to use the test versions to enjoy the features faster and try to understand the new features before the releases become official. However I am disappointed as a customer/developer. Well, I work with private online RPG servers, and I continually see how IPS emphasizes their updates on features for Entertainment, businesses like stores, blogs, schools and other categories. But I see that the community is insufficient in resources for communities like mine, where a large part of the end user are Players. I don't see resources that can stretc…
