Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 26Mar 26 i have a feedback from user about unread posts 🤔 i never used this feature so i cant tell him more or guide him if theres a way how to achieve such content listing 🤔 I retract yesterday's (partial) enthusiasm about the link to unread posts. Unfortunately, it's for nothing. There are new posts there, but they are not sorted by topic and sometimes they don't make sense without previous posts. I was looking for a page with a list of topics, sorted by last change and with a link to the last unread post. I guess there's no such thing here anymore. You can't get to such a list of topics without clicking on individual categories.
March 26Mar 26 The unread stream by default will combine all posts from a topic into "one entry" and then bring you to the last item which the user didn't read. If the user didn't read the topic, they'd be brought to the first post in the topic. With that said, you as an administrator can change this default and/or the user can change their own behavior for when they click a new item. Alternatively, the user could create their own activity stream which would not combine all posts from a topic into a single entry. As an administrator to change the defaults of the Unread Activity Stream, you would go to: ACP -> System -> Activity Streams -> edit Unread Activity Stream -> change "Show Me" to "Content items, comments, and reviews"As an administrator you can change the default behavior for what happens when someone clicks a topic with a new post in it by going to: ACP -> Members -> Profiles -> Profile Settings -> When a member clicks an item link.A user can change the behavior of what happens when they click a topic with a new post in it by going to Account Settings -> Content Preferences.
