Our business is being acquired and the website will be closed down i'm guessing in next weeks to month. I have content on Forum, esp blogs and also old radio show audio's that may be of some future use and some historical value re our company's past. HM and IPS have seemingly kicked the can back and forth to each other re who can help or is responsible for understanding and dealing with backing up. Currently running CodeGuard backups in HM but it indicates the http://community.peakptrochester.com/ that the database is currently not added to our account. Not sure if forum is considered a "database" or not or just files of some sort etc. Uncertain how to "add" the community forum database to CodeGuard acct so it includes in backups. Uncertain how , even once downloaded (hopefully) , it'll be "read" from the external SSD. Would i have to purchase another IPS account to read things or is there some other way? Someone had indicated localWP app may be helpful but not sure it applies to the forum's formatting. Please help!!!

If you are self hosted, IPS is not going to be able to help you with configuring your backups. That’s either your or your hosting provider’s responsibility. IPS simply provides the software and what you do with it beyond that is up to you unless you’re using their cloud platform in which case they would own managing backups.

In general terms, you will need to backup the MySQL database as well as all of the files associated with your website.

What software is used to backup your website or how to configure it is something no one here can really help with as it would depend on your server, its configuration, etc. If your hosting provider does not provide configuration assistance, you may need to hire a sysadmin to help manage this for you.

You would need to contact your hosting company regarding this, as we don't host your data
