Since I have a solid user base in invision community 4, I would like to use it as an identity provider for a meadiwiki site I have that has gone dead as far as user participation is concerned. Also interested in a wordpress case as well. I am bit unsure about IC as an OAuth2 provider. Please correct the following to

  • IC can function an an OAuth2 IDP for logging into other websites and that is already embedded in IC.

  • No code is needed in IC part. Only some configuration.

  • Code or a plugin is needed for the other website (WP, mediawiki, joomla etc.).

  • IC can still use FB, Google etc. for registrations/logins while also being IDP for the third website.

I am interested in understanding more about this.

Its not clear what the question is there, but essentially if you want to allow another site to login using credentials from your invision community site, you would set this up in the API section. So you would go to

System->Site Features->API

From here you would click to create a new OAuth 2 client and fill in the options that are appropriate to your specific client.
