lschuc Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I applied a patch to our forum today at aoai.org/forum and now I can not see the forum or get into the admin pages. My problem seems to be that in order to complete the upgrade, I have to log in with my email address and password, but I don’t know or remember the password, so this apparently can’t continue. (see screenshot attached). There is NO link to reset my password here either. In addition, when the patch update could not finish, and instead gave a error report (see this report in the next screenshot). I do not know where to go from here and now, Invision Community no longer has any way to contact someone to help with this. Lew
Solution teraßyte Posted November 8 Solution Posted November 8 Since you don't remember the password, I assume the upgrade hasn't started yet. If so, you should be able to reset the password from the front end of the site. The error in your second screenshot is a known issue that will be fixed once you upgrade to 4.7.19: Just to clarify, version 4.7.19 is not out yet. IPS is working on it and it should be out soon.
lschuc Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 Thank you for your response! I was not able to get to the front end of the site since it would not load. I restored the forum site from a backup on the server from a couple days ago and was then able to get to the forum and reset my password. I can now also get to the Forum admin pages too. This all began tonight when I was in the Admin Page Support page (Get Support) and saw that my version 4.7.18 showed an optional patch available. I clicked the "Fix This" button and it never completed, so I ended up restoring the forum app from a backup. So I am hesitant to to try and fix it again by installing the patch. This section also shows in the Database section, a Non-innoDB Tables and an option to "Fix This" I'm not sure what this means, and hesitant to fix it for now. These are the only 2 recommendations shown on the page.
teraßyte Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Your hosting should be able to help with the InnoDB tables. If you click the Fix This button, a popup with a more precise description of the problem will appear. For the upgrade process, as long as you know your password, it shouldn't be a problem. If you're still unsure/hesitant, and your host won't help with the InnoDB recommendation changes, your next best option would be to hire a 3rd party Provider for help. 🙄
