I'd like to turn off the notification that there is a blog post that needs moderation due to violating a word filter but I can't seem to find where I do this?

Word filters can be found in ACP -> System -> Posting -> Word Filters.

@Jim M Thanks for the fast response. Yes, I know how to change word filters but how do I control whether I receive an email (as the moderator/admin) when something needs to be moderated? 

There would not be a way to specifically turn off notifications for just that. It would be all moderation related activity.

This would be in your own notification settings on the front-end for moderated items. Account Settings -> Notification Settings -> Moderation.
